In today’s financial markets, it is of utmost importance to possess a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of risk management. The Financial Risk Management Part II preparation course provides a platform to gain or refresh this knowledge.

Training in Risk Management for Practitioners
The program provides an integrated picture of financial risk management. The second part of the preparation course specifically focuses on the applied perspective. Topics which will be presented and discussed during the course are for example market and credit risk measurement and management, as well as investment, operational and integrated risk management.

The course will be taught by lecturers who have gained substantial years of work experience in risk management in the financial sector. Examples of faculty for the Financial Risk Management Part II course are Dr. Thomas Ritter, who is Head of Credit Portfolio Management at DZ Bank, and Prof. Dr. Thomas Kaiser, a Director at KPMG with a focus on operational and reputational risk management. Furthermore, Dr. Lars Jäger will discuss in detail risk and investment management. Besides his role as the founder and CEO of an alternative asset manager, Dr. Jäger also serves in the advisory team for the GARP FRM.

Preparation for GARP’s™ FRM^® Exam
Based on a five year experience with preparing candidates for the GARP™ FRM^® Exam, the program covers the topics for the second part of the GARP™ FRM^® Exam. Besides market risk, credit risk and operational risk, it also provides foundations in quantitative methods, fixed-income mathematics, regulation, and accounting.

The curriculum for the FRM Part II course is revised and updated yearly according to GARP's Study Guide to fit participants' needs to successfully master the Part II exam.
Please note that for an in-depth focus on the basic theories and methods of financial risk management, the first part of FRM (always scheduled in the spring) is better suited for attendees.
