The Information Center at the House of Finance does not belong to Goethe University's library system. It has a collection of about 50,000 books, pooled from the institutes and chairs based at the House of Finance. This collection consists of special literature relating to economics, finance, insurance, insurance law, banking law, the law of finance and international law. The books and journals are listed in the OPAC of Goethe University’s library system.
The following institutes have contributed material to the Information Center:
- Institute for Law and Finance (ILF)
- Center for Financial Studies (CFS)
- Goethe Business School (GBS)
- Institute for Banking and Financial History (IBF)
- Some of the chairs based at the House of Finance
Books owned by the Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability (IMFS), and hence the Chair of Money, Currency and Central Bank Law, are shelved in its own rooms at the House of Finance and are accessible by appointment only (Tel: +49 (0)69 798-34014).
Due to the Covid19 pandemic, the study area of the Information Center will remain closed until further notice. In exceptional cases and after registering with the librarian, it may be possible to make photocopies or scans (Covid19 hygiene rules apply).
The regular opening hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
A copy machine is available at the Information Center, for which a prepaid library or Goethe card is needed. Prepaid cards can be reloaded in the entrance hall of the House of Finance using an EC card.
