Infrastructure

The House of Finance is outfitted with advanced technology and equipment, offering ideal conditions for research, teaching, and the hosting of conferences and other events. The building features more than ten state-of-the-art lecture halls of various sizes and a large number of meeting rooms. The on-site offices are equipped with the latest conveniences, and there are numerous workstations for doctoral students.

The Research Data Center and the Research Data Centre of the Statistical Offices of the Federal States offer in-house access to a wide range of economic and financial market data. Our Information Center has an extensive library in the domains of law and economics, including specialist literature on money and finance, reference works on corporate and capital market law, literature on financial history, and primary-source documents. The on-site cafeteria provides a space for refreshment, repose, and repartee.

The Information Center at the House of Finance is not part of the Goethe University Library system. With an inventory of some 40,000 items, the library houses a significant share of the private collections held by the institutes and professors that make up the House of Finance. The library is particularly rich in specialized literature on economics, finance, banking, insurance, associated law, and financial history.

The Information Center’s freely accessible book and journal holdings can be searched via the Goethe University Library website.

In addition to the literature furnished by various professors, the following institutes have provided items to the Information Center:

  • Institute for Law and Finance (ILF)
  • Goethe Business School (GBS)
  • Institute for Insurance Law (IVersR)
  • Institute for Banking and Financial History (IBF)

The literature holdings of the Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability (IMFS) and of the Chair of Monetary, Currency, and Central Banking Law can be accessed upon request at the premises of the IMFS within the House of Finance. Please make an appointment by calling +49 (0) 69 798-34014.

The Information Center’s reading room has 35 workstations available to authorized users. The workstations can be booked for a maximum of four two-hour blocks per week (if workstations are available, spontaneous use is also permitted).

Please use the booking tool to reserve a workstation:
