Rainer Klump elected to GRASFI’s Board of Directors
At the annual conference of the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment (GRASFI), held from August 25 to 27 at Paris Dauphine University, Goethe University participated for the first time as a member institution, having joined the network in fall 2024. With the election of Rainer Klump, Executive Director of the House of Finance, to the GRASFI Board of Directors, the university now also holds a seat in the alliance’s governing body. GRASFI brings together leading Sustainable Finance research institutions from internationally renowned universities, including the London School of Economics and Oxford University. On August 27, Klump was elected to the GRASFI Board for a three-year term. The Board is responsible for setting the alliance’s strategic research agenda and securing its funding.
“Sustainable finance addresses the financial risks posed by climate change and other threats to the ecosystems, as well as the opportunities for the financial sector arising from the transition to a sustainable economy,” Klump emphasized after his election. “I am delighted that the House of Finance can contribute its expertise in this field to an international research network of outstanding partners.”
The Paris conference, during which the Board convened, featured a wide range of presentations on topics such as the impact of regulation, corporate transition plans, and the role of biodiversity in sustainable finance.
Looking ahead, the House of Finance will host a GRASFI PhD workshop on Sustainable Finance for the first time in spring 2026.
